During a working trip to Atyrau region, Askhat Khassenov, the Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC, visited the gas chemical complex of Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc LLP (KPI - a subsidiary of KMG). The Head of KMG inspected the production units and facilities.
The Company has set specific targets for 2025 aimed at stable operation, improving reliability and increasing polypropylene production, as well as cooperating with domestic refiners to meet domestic needs. In 2024, the KPI plant produced 248.7 thousand tons of polypropylene. At the moment, the plant produces 9 target brands of polypropylene, of which 5 were not previously produced in Kazakhstan. By the end of January 2025, it is planned to develop the production of two more new brands. Today, KPI's share in the domestic polypropylene market is already over 50%. Polypropylene imports in the country decreased from 63% in 2022 to 17% by the end of 2024.
The Company has opened large warehouses in Almaty and Astana, which ensure uninterrupted supplies to refiners. The "Forsazh" program actively supports the development of Kazakhstani polymer refiners. In total, 70 of the more than 80 local refinery companies consume homopolymer from KPI.
The Company provides the market of Kazakhstan and increases the volume of supplies to Russia, Turkey and other countries.
The main staff of the plant consists of 630 people, of which over 80% are residents of Atyrau region. The remaining employees represent other regions of Kazakhstan.
KPI continues to actively develop, making a significant contribution to reducing Kazakhstan's import dependence. The Company plans to maintain its position in the market by expanding its product range and improving the quality of customer service.
