For the third consecutive year, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. (KPI) showcased its products at CENTRAL ASIA PLASTWORLD 2025, one of the largest industry platforms in the region. This continued participation highlights the company’s active role in transforming Kazakhstan’s petrochemical sector. KPI is steadily reinforcing its position as a key supplier of raw materials to local processors and has significantly reshaped the domestic polypropylene market. In the first half of 2025, the company’s share of the domestic market exceeded 70%, up fr om 57% at the end of 2024. Since the launch of its operations, KPI has contributed to a steady decline in Kazakhstan’s dependence on imported polypropylene. According to forecasts, the import share is expected to decrease by 5% by the end of the year.
KPI is also actively exporting its products to Europe, Türkiye, Russia, and China. However, sustainable growth going forward will require coordinated efforts between government and business in areas such as infrastructure development, workforce training, equipment modernization, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Between January and May 2025, the plant produced 175,000 tonnes of polypropylene. The surge in demand has been driven by the launch of new client support programmes for polymer product manufacturers, the expansion of the product portfolio, and technical support provided by KPI. Today, the company manufactures 12 polypropylene grades, enabling processors across various industries in Kazakhstan to produce a wide range of goods from packaging and textiles to engineering components. As a result, domestic polypropylene processing increased by 28% in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year. Since the complex was commissioned at the end of 2022, the number of local processing enterprises has grown from 80 to over 130, with around 25% of KPI’s 2025 sales accounted for by newly established companies.
“For us, CENTRAL ASIA PLASTWORLD is more than just an industry exhibition, it’s a platform wh ere manufacturers, processors, partners and clients come together. It gives us the opportunity to demonstrate how KPI is reshaping the market and supporting the emergence of a fully-fledged processing industry in Kazakhstan. Our involvement goes beyond product supply, we support clients at every stage, from selecting the appropriate grade to launching production,” said Danila Mogilevtsev, Marketing and Sales Director at KPI.
“Our goal is to offer processors not just a high-quality product, but also confidence in the future. We are open to dialogue, understand our clients’ real needs, and are ready to adapt to their goals. KPI is growing alongside the market, and we are proud to be one of the driving forces behind this industry,” he added.
KPI’s participation in CENTRAL ASIA PLASTWORLD 2025 represents yet another step in the company’s commitment to the systemic transformation of the petrochemical industry. The company sees itself not just as a producer, but as a catalyst for the expansion of polypropylene processing in Kazakhstan.
