2023
On January 15, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries LLP (KPI Inc.) repaid a debt to the China Development Bank (China Development Bank Corporation) in the amount of 75 million USD. It was possible to repay the debt mainly due to income from the sale of polypropylene.

On January 19, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken” Raimbek Batalov awarded the Chairman of the Board of KPI Inc. Daniyar Tiyessov badge "The best worker of the chemical industry”.

On January 27, the mini-football tournament "Chief Engineer's Cup" was held.

On February 7, the CNCEC specialists were awarded.

2022
On April 1, a gas turbine compressor was launched at the petrochemical complex for the production of polypropylene in the Atyrau region. The equipment launch is one of the significant stages of commissioning at the plant.

On April 27, a testing laboratory of the international company SGS was opened on the territory of the KPI integrated petrochemical complex under construction in the Atyrau region.

On June 7 Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” Mr. Magzum Mirzagaliyev visited the integrated petrochemical complex under construction for the production of polypropylene in Atyrau region.

“KPI Inc.” LLP, the operator of the integrated petrochemical complex for the production of polypropylene, became the golden partner of S.Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas – the presentation of the symbolic sign was held within the framework of the First Bolashaq Energy Forum.
On July 10, the plant started supplying propane to process units. Then the company proceeded to the second stage of commissioning - loading the catalyst into the propane dehydrogenation reactors.

On July 28, employees of “Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc.” LLP received the keys to new apartments in the residential complex “French Quarter” in Atyrau.
2021
In January-February, the transportation of 7 convoys (flights) with oversized KCOI sports equipment (Mangystau region) to the construction site was completed. Critical equipment was delivered:
Ethylene and propylene compressors (MAN plant, Germany), Reaction gas compressor (Mitsubishi plant, Japan), Waste heat boiler components (Hamon plant, China), Extrusion plant components (Coperion plant, Germany), Regeneration air heating Furnace vessel (Zeeco plant, India), pressure vessels (KNM plant, China).

In May-June, cargoes from China were delivered to the construction site, which were reoriented from auto and railway transport to sea transport (2 sea vessels) with transshipment in the ports of Europe (Antwerp) and the Russian Federation (Novorossiysk). The reorientation of goods is associated with the introduction of quarantine measures in the province of XUAR (PRC), and the impossibility of transporting goods by car and railway transport during that period.

July 2021 Carrier Gas Compressor (critical equipment, long-term equipment) was delivered to the construction site and transported to China for repairs.

In July, the integrated petrochemical complex (IPCI) in the Atyrau region received electricity from “Karabatan Utility Solutions” LLP to the main step-down substation with a voltage of 110 kW.

On August 19, in order to carry out hydraulic tests, flush pipelines and run in auxiliary dynamic equipment, water resources (primarily desalinated and process water) were received through the engineering communications of “Karabatan Utility Solution” LLP.

September 10 Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” for oil refining and petrochemistry, Chairman of the Board of “KPI Inc.” LLP Mr. Daniyar Tiyessov and General Director of “Tengizchevroil” LLP Mr. Kevin Lyon signed an agreement for the supply of propane from the Tengiz field to a polypropylene plant in Karabatan.

In September, preparatory work for the preliminary commissioning of the technical gas system was completed. Carrying out tests of the main collector of drinking water supply and receiving drinking water to the drinking water station of the Complex. Performance of individual tests of electrical and dynamic (pumps) equipment at the off-site facilities of the Complex.

On October 6, 24, technical air, instrumentation air and nitrogen were received with design indicators for engineering communications of “Karabatan Utility Solution” LLP from the supplier Air Liquid. Purging and cleaning of pipeline communications of the Complex. Testing, adjustment and testing of hot water boilers running on diesel fuel at the Heating Supply Unit of the Complex's facilities. Continuation of individual testing of equipment and purging of pipeline communications of the Complex.

On November 27, upon completion of the preparation and testing of the tightness of the gas pipeline, natural gas was received through the natural gas metering and distribution unit from “GazEnergy” LLP.

On December 1, after the completion of the preparatory work of the infrastructure facilities necessary for the reception of raw propane and the completion of leak tests, an emergency high-pressure flare was ignited.

On December 27, the new plant received the first batch of propane from the Tengiz field. In November, the plant received nitrogen and dry compressed air. In the summer, the company received electricity to the main step-down substation, and later primary desalinated, demineralized and process water from “Karabatan Utility Solution” LLP. Thus, the plant has completed the acceptance of all energy resources necessary for commissioning and subsequent launch of production.

In December, 100% of all metal structures were delivered to the construction site according to the project.

2020
On January 27, the largest item of industrial equipment was installed - propane and propylene splitter column. The weight of the column is more than 1,100 tons, the height is 105 meters, the diameter is more than 8 meters, and the volume is 5,132 m3. This equipment was manufactured by “Atyrauneftemash” LLP (Atyrau). The lifting was carried out using a hydraulic portal crane with a lifting capacity of 3200 tons and an auxiliary crawler crane with a lifting capacity of 750 tons.

On February 28, at the Nurlan Balgimbayev Communications Development Center in Atyrau, a round table meeting “Personnel for the gas and petrochemical industry” was held. The event was attended by representatives of leading technical universities of Kazakhstan and Russia, oil refineries, government agencies, students. The main objective of the round table was to build a process of continuous training of specialists for the gas and petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan.

On March 06, the NOWOWIEJSKI sea vessel with critical large-sized equipment manufactured in South Korea was shipped from the port of Ulsan - Catofin dehydrogenation reactors 8 units (WOOYANG manufacturer), Propane storage tanks 4 units (GS Entec manufacturer), Vessels high pressure and heat exchangers 5 units (manufacturer “GS Entec”). The ship headed to the port of Constanta (Romania) to reload equipment onto sea barges.

On April 14, the sea vessel NOWOWIEJSKI arrived at the port of Constanta to unload large-sized equipment manufactured in South Korea and load them onto 6 sea barges. Loading and departure from the port of Constanta of all 6 sea barges was carried out from April 16 to April 26, 2020. All 6 barges went through the Black Sea, the Volga-Don Canal, the Caspian Sea and the Ural-Caspian Canal to the port of Atyrau for unloading.

On June 8, the delivery of 17 units of large-sized equipment to the port of Atyrau, which arrived from South Korea by sea, was completed. The total weight of the equipment is 5,500 tons. Transportation was carried out along the route: the ports of South Korea - Istanbul - the Black Sea (Constanta, Romania) - the Volga-Don Canal - the Caspian Sea - the Ural-Caspian Canal - the river port of Atyrau.

In the period from July 26 to August 10, the state authorities of the Atyrau region introduced a quarantine at the construction site due to the penetration of COVID-19.
On September 14, the installation of four large-sized propane storage tanks was completed (length - 42m, diameter - 8.4m, volume - 2,638m3, weight - 533t each).

On September 22, the installation of the key equipment of the complex was completed - eight Catofin reactors weighing 417 tons each. The above equipment was manufactured at the factories of South Korea and delivered to Atyrau by sea.

On November 15, the transportation of critical large-sized equipment by sea was completed. MAN compressors weighing 400 tons were delivered from the port of Antwerp (Belgium) through the Volga-Baltic Canal. Also, from the port of Hazira (India) through the Volga-Don Canal, the body of the regeneration air heating furnace weighing 118 tons was delivered.
2019
In January 2019, the development of 60% of the 3D model of the plant was completed.

In the period fr om April 9 to 11, the 18th North Caspian Regional Exhibition “ATYRAU OIL AND GAS” and the 18th North Caspian Regional Construction and Interior Exhibition “AtyrauBuild” with representatives from 20 countries of the world were held in Atyrau at the Exhibition Center. The delegation of “KPI Inc.” LLP took part as visitors.

On April 23, 2019, in participation in the II Forum “Best Practices in Managing the Production Efficiency of the Oil and Gas Industry of Kazakhstan 2019”, organized by “Tengizchevroil” LLP and JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, issues in the field of overhaul, production, digitalization of production, maintenance, OHS were discussed, logistics, training and motivation of staff. Question-answer sessions were held. It was noted at the Forum that the plans of “KPI Inc.” LLP creation of the most automated and digital enterprise.

On April 26, 2019, a reporting meeting was held in Beijing on the project “Construction of an integrated petrochemical complex in the Atyrau region (phase I - production of polypropylene)” with the participation of the management of JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, KPI and the management of the company “China National Chemical Engineering, Co.” During the bilateral meetings of the management of KMG and CNCEC, the measures taken by the companies were noted. In turn, CNCEC attracted Kazakhstani companies to the construction, placed orders for equipment and metal structures at Kazakhstani factories and performed part of the organizational work to hold the Forum on Kazakhstani content in the project.

During a working visit to the Atyrau region on May 3, 2019, Deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Budget Ms. Olga Perepechina, held a round table on the topic “Development of the investment climate: attracting strategic investors to the manufacturing industry and creating joint ventures in priority sectors of the economy enterprises with “anchor investors”, visited the industrial site in Karabatan and the industrial park of the National Petrochemical Industry.

On July 17, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin, visited the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark and got acquainted in detail with the construction progress of the IPCI.

On September 21, according to the training plan for the future operational personnel of “KPI Inc.” LLP, a group of 22 people from the project technical support department was sent for internship and training to the Republic of Uzbekistan at the "Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (SHGCC) in Karshi.

Since October 1, transportation of the Partnership's employees along the route Atyrau-Karabatan-Atyrau by rail has been organized. Passenger cars are equipped with an equipped heating system, air conditioning, general electric lighting, air ventilation system, toilets, fire alarms. Transportation by rail was organized for the safety of employees.

On October 11, a Forum on the Kazakhstani content of the project “Construction of an integrated petrochemical complex in the Atyrau region (Phase 1)” was held. It was attended by about 200 representatives of the machine-building industry of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC “KazMunayGas” and local executive bodies.

On October 8, 2019, a business forum was held, organized by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh-French Business Council, wh ere representatives of French and Kazakh companies fr om various sectors (energy, oil, chemical industry, exploration, construction, agriculture, etc.) took part. This event provided an opportunity for representatives of French and Kazakh enterprises, government organizations to sign agreements, as well as discuss the implementation of projects in Kazakhstan and the prospects for economic and investment cooperation. The most significant event of the business forum was the signing of an agreement for the supply and purchase of dry compressed air and nitrogen between “Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries” LLP and Air Liquide. The signed bilateral document confirms the firm intentions of Kazakhstan in establishing long-term relations with France and the desire for long-term cooperation that will be beneficial for both parties. According to the signed Agreement, a modern and fully automated plant for the production of technical gases will be built, which in turn will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the production facilities of Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries and the production of high value-added petrochemical products - polypropylene.

On November 20, 2019, the delivery of the first equipment with a long production time was carried out - polymerization reactors in the amount of 3 units, each weighing 97 tons. The reactors intended for the polypropylene polymerization unit were manufactured in Belgium at the COEK ENGINEERING N.V. plant, shipped by sea from the port of Antwerp on October 18, 2019, and delivered in a short time through the Baltic Sea, then along the Volga-Baltic Canal to the Caspian Sea to the port Aktau.

On November 22, 2019, the Head of JSC “National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” Mr. Akhmetzhan Yessimov got acquainted with the progress of the project “Construction of an integrated petrochemical complex (phase I - production of polypropylene)” and together with the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas Alik Aidarbayev visited “AtyrauNefteMash” LLP  , wh ere the distillation column for propane/propylene separation was manufactured and its transportation to the construction site in Karabatan was started. While participating in the ceremony, Akhmetzhan Yessimov signed a Commemorative Certificate of Completion of the first long-term equipment manufactured in Kazakhstan. For three days, from November 27 to November 29, 2019, the propane and propylene splitter column traveled 46 kilometers from AtyrauNefteMash to the territory of the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark special economic zone. On the morning of November 30, 2019, the column was delivered to the construction site of the integrated petrochemical complex.
2018
The EPC contractor - China National Chemical Engineering Co (PRC) was identified, debt financing was attracted ($2 billion from the China Development Bank for a period of 20 years at 5.8% per annum).


On June 28, 2018, the project was transferred to the trust management of JSC NC "KazMunayGas"

On July 30, 2018, the master plot plan was approved.

In July 2018, the development of 30% of the 3D model of the project was completed.

On August 10, 2018, a single design office was organized in Atyrau, including Author's supervision.

On August 28, 2018, an order for the manufacture of a propane and propylene splitter - the largest column (height 105m, diameter 8.4m, weight 1,100 tons) was placed at “Atyrauneftemash” LLP.

On December 5, 2018, with the completion of the construction of the first stage of the temporary camp, the personnel of the Owner and the Contractor moved to Karabatan.

On December 20, 2018, the construction of a temporary construction camp for 3,000 people was completed.

On December 25, 2018, 18,124 driven piles were completed at 45 sites.
2017
The first phase – “Polypropylene” - was announced during the nationwide teleconference “New industrialization of the country: the jump of the Kazakhstan leopard” with the participation of the President of the country Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev.
2010
The Integrated Petrochemical Complex project was developed within the framework of the Program for the Development of the Petrochemical Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2008-2013, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2004, No. 101. The main goal is to use the available large volumes of gas from the Tengiz field as a feedstock for the Complex for the production of high value-added petrochemical products for subsequent sale in the domestic and export markets.

The Integrated Petrochemical Complex project is included in the Map of industrialization of Kazakhstan for 2010 - 2014, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 14, 2010, No. 303.
