Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. has opened a warehouse for the storage and prompt delivery of polypropylene in Astana. The new warehouse, designed for 500 tons of finished products, will increase the logistical availability of polymer raw materials for processing companies from the northern regions of Kazakhstan and significantly shorten the delivery time to customers - from 10 to 1 day.

The opening ceremony was attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of ministries, the Samruk-Kazyna Foundation, the Association of Producers and Consumers of Petrochemical Products, as well as polymer processors.

Asset Magauov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KMG, addressed the participants of the ceremony with a welcoming speech.

“KazMunayGas and KPI continue consistent work on the company's customer orientation.

One of the important priorities of KPI will always be to meet, first of all, the polymer needs of domestic producers. I would like to note that during the current year, the price of polypropylene in Kazakhstan was the lowest among neighboring countries. Our next step in developing the domestic processing market will be the opening of a similar warehouse for the southern regions of the country in Shymkent in 2025," said A. Magauov.

Today, the share of KPIs in the domestic polypropylene market is 50%, which indicates the competitiveness of prices in the domestic market.

"We provide large processors with the opportunity to ship by rail. For customers with lower needs, a similar service is available through the delivery of raw materials to regional warehouses in megacities, which allows them to purchase products in small batches. The entire range of polypropylene from the KPI plant is available for order from these warehouses. For the first time, we are also launching a cross-docking service. This will allow large processors to cost-effectively purchase polypropylene, transshipping it through the warehouse infrastructure, but avoiding storage costs. Next year, we will also expand the service, delivering KPI products to railway stations and dead ends of customers focused on carriage deliveries. This will reduce cash gaps for processors and save them from the time costs associated with the delivery of raw materials to production sites," Damir Abeldinov, head of Sales and Customer Service at KPI, commented on the opening of the warehouse.

Earlier, the company opened a similar warehouse in Almaty, which served processors in the southern region for six months, ensuring the supply of more than 2 thousand tons of polypropylene.

As part of the opening of the warehouse in Astana, polypropylene was supplied to the first customer of the warehouse, the Aqua Atom company, which consumes about 5 tons of polypropylene per month.

"Aqua Atom is a domestic manufacturer of polypropylene filters in the Kazakhstan market, founded in January 2022. All our products are manufactured using high-tech equipment from high-quality primary Kazakhstani raw materials provided by our reliable partner KPI LLP. This allows us to achieve world-class end product quality. Our products have a three-layer production technology, which, thanks to variable micron layers, allows consumers to use the entire useful area of a polypropylene filter, which ultimately increases its service life. We are proud to note that our company has mastered such a complex production process. Together with the technical support service of KPI LLP, our technologists are developing new products, raising the quality standards of the final product. Such results can be achieved only in the production of the final product and raw materials in Kazakhstan. We are very pleased that the new warehouse of our partner KPI LLP has opened in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. We believe that this will give a new impetus to the development of other industries. We wish success to all of us!", said Tokymbek Nurzhan, Director of the Aqua Atom company.

The KPI program for the development of polypropylene processing "Fast and Furious" was also discussed in detail at the event.

This program provides special discounts for the development of polymer processing in the country, and it also helps Kazakhstani manufacturers to explore new markets for finished products.

The expansion of the logistics network and the launch of innovative programs confirm KPI's commitment to support industrial growth, develop polymer processing and contribute to the economic development of Kazakhstan.

Background information:

Cross-docking is a logistical method in which goods (polypropylene) arrive at a transit warehouse (in this case, a KPI warehouse) and are almost immediately shipped to processors, by passing long—term storage. This approach allows large processors to cost-effectively purchase polypropylene, using the warehouse infrastructure for fast transshipment of goods, but avoiding the cost of its storage. This method speeds up order processing and delivery to the end user, minimizing warehouse costs and increasing the efficiency of logistics operations.
