Kazakhstani polypropylene produced by Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. (KPI) is now widely used in strategically important industries. By consistently developing cooperation with domestic processors, the company facilitates the creation of high-value-added products and expands the application of domestic polymers. One striking example of this partnership is AquaFilter LLP, which specializes in the production of filter elements for water purification systems.
Currently, the company manufactures filter elements for water purification systems commissioned by the Caspian Desalination Plant LLC, using KPI polypropylene as the primary raw material. Since May of this year, the company has been regularly supplying products used in the first stage of mechanical water purification in the plant's water treatment system. The filter elements retain large mechanical impurities, ensuring the efficient operation of subsequent purification stages and the stability of the entire process.
Currently, the company produces between 10,000 and 30,000 filter elements monthly. To meet these production volumes, approximately 20 tons of KPI polypropylene are processed per month. Last fall, production tests using the first pilot batch of Kazakhstani polypropylene were successfully conducted, confirming the material's compliance with the company's technological requirements. This year, the project has entered the commercial operation phase.
"Currently, we produce two or three types of water filters. We plan to expand our product range to eight types in the future. KPI polypropylene granules fully meet our quality and technological requirements. The launch of polypropylene production in Kazakhstan has opened up new opportunities for the development of the domestic polymer industry. Going forward, we intend to supply high-quality filter elements not only to the Mangystau region but also to other regions of the country," noted Amangeldy Taskimbayev, Director of Aqua Filter LLP.
In the future, the company plans to master the production of filter elements for the oil and gas industry, medicine, and other sectors with high quality requirements. This will significantly expand the scope of Kazakhstani polypropylene and provide additional incentive for the development of new high-tech industries.
Currently, KPI supplies 181 domestic processing plants with polypropylene granules, making a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry, stimulating the creation of new production facilities, and strengthening the country's industrial potential.
