Business Breakfast in Atyrau: Strategic Dialogue with Industry Leaders

Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, arrived in Atyrau Oblast. His day in the oil capital began with a business breakfast with the heads of the region's largest companies: Sillenо LLP, KMG PetroChem LLP, and Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. LLP. The KPI petrochemical complex is a unique project for the country, launched by the Head of State. The plant not only produces 500,000 tons of polypropylene annually, but also forms the foundation for the development of an entire ecosystem of small and medium-sized businesses. The company is actively involved in training qualified personnel. The plant employs 630 people, over 80% of whom are local residents of the Atyrau Oblast, demonstrating the project's social significance.
Currently, 15 grades of polypropylene homopolymer have been developed, with a planned expansion of the product line, including the production of grades using phthalate-free catalysts. The project's potential includes the production of up to 64 grades of homopolymer. These grades are used in the construction, medical, food, and textile industries.
From raw materials to brand: The domestic Bal Tekstil factory is a shining example of added value creation. Kazakhstan's first carpet manufacturer now uses Atyrau polypropylene from KPI. This is the very "economy of simple things" in action: from gas processing in Tengiz to finished carpets in Kazakhstani homes. The meeting discussed how to scale such value chains and what support industrial giants need to develop a network of local suppliers.
