Occupational health and safety

The health and safety of employees has a priority over the results of production activities at “KPI Inc.” LLP. The company's management pays special attention to this issue, involving each employee and increasing the safety culture in the team. The Company has not recorded a single case of major accidents throughout its operations. The accident and fatality rate is 0.0.

In accordance with legislative and internal requirements, the Company provides training in occupational health and safety, industrial and fire safety to improve the competence of employees when carrying out high-risk work. In 2022, 1,952 employees were trained. In 8 months of 2023, 1175 employees were trained.

Expenditures on occupational safety, environmental protection and civil protection for 2022 were allocated 339 mln. KZT, for 8 months of 2023 this amount was 573 mln. KZT.

The Company is also making a special effort to improve the level of employee health management. The Company organises periodic medical examinations to monitor the health of employees for early detection of the impact of harmful production factors. In 2022, 490 employees underwent medical examinations, and as of 2023, the number of medical examinations totalled 455.

Civil defence

Ensuring fire and industrial safety – the main task in the field of civil protection.

Fire and industrial safety are components of a single system, their common goal is to prevent threats to human life and health, prevent and/or minimise the number of fires, incidents and accidents, the amount of damage caused as a result of such events to the production assets of “KPI Inc.” LLP, as well as to ensure readiness to localise fires, incidents and accidents and eliminate their consequences.

On the basis of the contract, Semser-Ort Sondirushi LLP provides round-the-clock readiness and duty of operational professional emergency rescue and firefighting units of Fire Department-12 of the Polar Division.

At the production facilities in order to practice the interaction of maintenance personnel with emergency rescue units, drills and emergency drills are conducted according to the schedule.

Within the framework of civil protection and the approved plan of industrial safety JSC FNB "Samuryk-Kazyna" September 15, 2023 in order to work out the interaction, held a comprehensive exercise involving emergency rescue and firefighting units of Fire Department-12 (KPI), Fire Department-13 (KUS) PF "Semser-Ort Sөndirushi" LLP, North Caspian Operating Company, fire service garrison of Atyrau and medical service Interteach.

Fire and industrial safety is aimed at compliance with the requirements established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of civil protection and the requirements established in technical regulations, rules, instructions and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main tasks of ensuring fire and industrial safety are as follows:

ensuring fulfilment of fire and industrial safety requirements;
monitoring of fire and industrial safety;
analysing and developing measures aimed at ensuring fire and industrial safety;
identification of circumstances and causes of violations affecting the safety of work performance;
coordination of works aimed at preventing the striking impact of hazardous production factors on facilities, people, and the environment.

Our purpose:

Ensuring the level of safety of hazardous production facilities, at which the risk of fires, incidents and accidents at these facilities is minimised, and production facilities are oriented towards the safest possible technologies, production processes, equipment, machinery and mechanisms.
